POSITION TITLE: Cashier

POSITION REPORTS TO: Manager Operations (Unit Head) & Finance Head
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: None
POSITION PURPOSE:
To ensure guest satisfaction through accurate billings and courteous manners and satisfy the job requirements by timely posting of all transactions and handling of all cash / credit card transactions, ensuring effective implementation of all established accounts systems and procedures and complying with the local accounts, taxation and other statutory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Interacts professionally with all staff in the restaurant.
2. To present a good image by providing a courteous and professional service and by handling telephone inquiries graciously and efficiently.
3. To understand thoroughly and adhere to the cashiering procedures and cash handling responsibilities.
4. To be responsible for all funds, collections, paid outs, etc.; in short, for all money, which are handled during the course of a day.
5. To accurately input all sales transactions; should be well versed with all items and pricing.
6. To obtain and account for the correct settlement of all sales.
7. For credit card payments, to ensure that the card holders signature is legibly placed on guest check and that the guest is a genuine card holder, by comparison of signature. No personal check will be accepted, unless authorization has been obtained.
8. To account for all bills used during the shift, remaining and those voided. Void checks, if any, should be accounted for and submitted along with the report to the USOM. Void checks are to be approved and signed by the GM – Unit Operations with reasons stated.
9. To balance the day’s transactions at the end of the shift.
10. To segregate the various cash checks and credit cards, and to ensure that they balance with readings.
11. Performs any other duties assigned by the Management from time to time.
