Scope of the role:
We are looking for a creative, in-the-know Graphic Designer to create daily content as well as other creative assets such as web site design comps and integrated advertising campaign creatives for this online fashion brand. The Graphic Designer must be highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and possess strong design skills and creative ideas. The Graphic Designer will work directly with the Senior Content Manager and Creative Director. This position has enormous potential for growth within the company.
What will you do:
Handle a team of 3-4 people, guide & train them to deliver the best creative work
Create original visual brand content including new pages, logos and dynamic design features
Create new and innovative banners for the website
Create designs for fashion editorial spreads and celebrity features on the Blog
Create in-house promotional units
Create advertising campaign creatives
Create advertorials in Photoshop
Create typography for website, products and promotional units
Create branding for new projects such as lookbook and fashion forum
Maintain and refine newsletter design and user interface on an ongoing basis
Stay abreast of competitor creatives, industry trends, best practices and other information beneficial to design and user interface of company’s media properties
Strong Photoshop skills to re-touch and clean product images
What you will need:
Degree in graphic design from a renowned Design School preferred.
Highly proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Exceptionally strong with colour correction
Basic Flash and gif animation skills (to create basic animated slide-shows and
expandable / animated banners)
Exceptionally strong with typography, kerning, tracking, lead etc.
Self-starter who possesses the ability to create original graphics / concepts with little direction
Highly detail oriented
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize as needed
Ability to work calmly under pressure, and meet tight deadlines with a strong sense of accountability
Takes direction and constructive critiques well while also having the ability to work autonomously and provide self-direction when needed
Highly organized with working knowledge of version control, file management, and file naming best practices
Able to work within standard templates and be able to alter
and rework them as necessary
Resourceful, can-do attitude that thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast paced environment
Working knowledge of best practices in user interface design, and special design considerations for advertising, and e-commerce elements are strongly preferred
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface well with other team members
Experience in fashion media a plus
Strong interest in fashion is a plus
Familiar with the company’s voice and style
