This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing global organization. It is presently an INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR role.
Responsibilities:
? Properly maintain the books and records of India entity in order to comply with local tax and accounting standards, prepare the necessary tax and regulatory filings, and liaise with local authorities.
? Prepare the monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax related filings, including VAT, CST, Service Tax, Tax Deducted at Source, as well as business registrations as needed.
? Prepare and maintain SEZ compliance and exemption forms as needed, including the Annual Performance Report. ? Assist in the review of the Company’s income tax returns.
? Complete monthly close tasks, including reconciliation of accounts.
? Monitor changing tax and SEZ laws and assist the team in ensuring on-going compliance by the Company.
? Conduct thorough tax and accounting research and maintain appropriate documentation of research for future reference, including drafting of memos as appropriate.
? Review and respond to all tax correspondence received.
? Serve as the primary point of contact between the Company and the national and local Indian Tax Authorities.
? Assist with special projects on an as-needed basis, as requirements of the overall Finance Department dictate. Desired Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate would be
? Qualified Chartered Accountant with 4-7 years of experience in a Tax-focused role, showing career progression
? Working knowledge of the complex direct and indirect tax issues in India.
? Direct experience working within a SEZ location is preferred
? Candidates should have strong organization skills and attention to detail.
? Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills.
? Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
? Capable of handling several deadline-driven tasks at once, and comfortable with shifting priorities.
? Team player; comfortable operating within a global organization. ? The candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills.:
