1.Will be a member of the HIPAA Compliance Steering Committee
2.Oversee/conduct gap analysis and risk analysis
3.Oversee/conduct the selection of cost-effective security measures to protect health information and/or any confidential information
4.Act as the responsible official/contact person for receiving and responding to individual complaints
5.Act as the responsible official to develop policies and procedures related to the subject
6.Work with management and legal to draft, review, and implement required contracts and to ensure, as required, compliance with contract provisions, including the receipt of reports of noncompliance and taking appropriate action in the event of a breach
7.Ability to apply management and leadership skills to attain and maintain compliance in a cost-effective manner
8.Coordinate and facilitate the allocation of appropriate resources for the support of and the effective implementation of HIPAA requirements
9.Manage and oversee the information security of the electronic protected health information
10.Monitor technological advancements related to protected health information protection and privacy for consideration of adaptation
11.Initiate, facilitate, and promote activities to foster information privacy and security awareness within the organization and related entities
12.Oversee, direct, deliver, or ensure delivery of initial security training and orientation to all employees, volunteers, medical and professional staff, contractors, alliances, business associates, and other appropriate third parties.
13.Develop training materials and deliver training to relevant staff to ensure that relevant staff are well trained in matters relating to the use and disclosure of PHI.
14.Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state privacy and security laws and accreditation standards and monitor advancements in information security technologies for ensuring organizational adaptation and compliance
15.Maintain a complaint tracking log.
16. Perform periodic privacy and security risk assessments and ongoing compliance monitoring activities
