– familiarity with the production process of books, journals, multi-lingual documents and other content.
– excellent knowledge in quality concepts, standards, template checking and QC/QA procedures.
– exposure to proof reading symbols, Math type usage, scientific notations, and equation breaking.
– the ability to stay focused throughout an entire document, which may be long and technical.
– good judgment, to gauge which changes are necessary.
– knowledge in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
– exposure to styles and layouts.
– Meeting the client’s requirements and specifications.
– Template matching with the client’s specification or sample.
– Quality and consistency in text.
– Final PDFs and pit-stop / pre-flight reports to be checked, before delivering them to the client.
– Establishing Agreed style and set standard of consistency throughout the project
– Setting up and maintaining documentation (i.e. error analysis report)
– Assisting technical staff (typesetters) in carrying out correction
– Preparing checklist
– Analyze work order or client-specific brief for new job and meet the requirement both content wise and style wise
– All the material is included and is in the correct place (i.e. correct environment)
– Pointing out any areas of weakness and recommending ways to improve
