Must-Have | 1. E3 level knowledge of DB2 UDB v9.5 and v9.7 (both EE and EEE versions) 2. E2 level data modeling skills (on any data modeling tool, preferably on Sybase Power Designer) 3. E2 level unix scripting skills 4.E1 level knowledge on MS-SQL database 5. E2 level knowledge on SQL (Stored procedures, functions and triggers)

1 | Design and Development:Design and develop new applications within the existing database for adding new functionality. This will include designing the application from the database perspective, coming up with the logical and physical ER diagrams, sizing the application, creating table creation scripts and Stored procedures and other SQL’s for the application. The application DBA should also have knowledge on DB2 database administration, data loads, backups and changing database configuration parameters. |
2 | Maintenance: Maintain existing applications in the existing databases from the database perspective. This includes periodic analysis of the tablespace usage, timing of script execution (using db2batch) and working with other DBA’s to ensure database availability after operating system/database upgrades. |
3 | Communication skills: · Real world experience supporting a EEE database server environment in a large corporate structure · Good verbal and written skills o Not afraid to ask questions o Can act as a point person and coordinate with other teams to get a task done o Ability to write professional looking documentation · Organized and detail orientated · Ability to quickly learn and adapt o Seeks out knowledge independently · Able to independently work with minimal guidance (important with time difference)

It may be shared with external stakeholders like job-agencies etc. | The Application DBA will be working on the Marketing applications for an Automotive client. These are mainly J2EE applications with IBM Datastage for ETL part and IBM UNICA as the marketing tool. These marketing applications include a Digital Asset management solution, Campaign Management System and a Product Information system. |
