Job Description


Will be responsible to set support the business on Indirect Tax Advisory and Compliance.


Indirect Tax:


– Work scope may encompass any of the Indirect Taxes as applicable and prevalent in India;


– Independently maintaining database for the statutory data and relevant supporting documents with an objective of creating a proper backup of data to be used during time of assessment etc;


– Supervise and manage process and team involved in of analyzing data required for the computation of taxes and preparation of returns from ERP systems; computation of taxes; preparation of returns; and ensuring that the taxes are paid and returns are filed within the Statutory due dates.


– Maintaining compliance and risk register to ensure that the statutory requirements have been complied with and no deviations have been made and that all tax risk is considered.


– Identification and managing indirect tax consultants for the foregoing activities;


– Liaison with the respective Departmental Authorities for the purpose of responding to notices, assessments or any other routine correspondence etc; managing tax litigation and making sure that the company defends its positions appropriately.


– Keeping abreast of the recent developments in law and updating the team on amendments which will impact business;


– Liaison with the internal business teams to ensure that data required for statutory requirements is being captured accurately in the ERP.


– The incumbent may also be required to travel on account of any of the foregoing profile requirements.


Drive Business Results:


– Influences business results by providing pertinent real time advice on indirect tax matters.


– Provide guidance to the business accounting team to facilitate gathering, interpreting and conveying financial and statistical information required for indirect tax planning in an accurate and efficient manner.


– Identifying areas for process improvements to enhance quality and accuracy of tax operations, facilitating informed decision making and initiating actions to effect tax planning.


– Provide regular updates and advise to the business regarding changes in tax laws.


– Create high-calibre insights, drive value-creation and help optimize the companys tax outflow.


– Experience in Indirect tax compliance and advisory roles.


– Up to date knowledge of tax provisions, amendments and judgments on tax issues.


– Solid performer who is highly ethical, decisive, action oriented and team-worker with high energy and process mindset to achieve superior results.


– Should be adequately hands-on and analytical thereby capable of getting and sharing insights.


– Excellent oral and written communication skills
