Job Description Sr. SAP Basis Landscape Lead/ Consultant
Total Experience: 12-15years
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and Support SAP Technical Infrastructure components that run on ABAP and / or JAVA stacks.
Responsible for Performance Tuning / Installations / Documentation / Upgrades / Monitoring of SAP Application / Netweaver Suite of products like ERP, BW.BI, PI, SRM, Portal, GRC on AIX / DB2 platforms
Research and Install Enhancement packages and SAP delivered Business Content for SAP Applications
Strong Database (Oracle/DB2/SQL Server/MaxDB ) experience in administration, hardware technologies and benchmarking of the same for SAP Applications.
In-depth knowledge of ABAP and JAVA monitoring tools for root cause analysis such as CCMS, DB cockpit and SMD
Evaluate Early Watch / Service Level reports and come up with an action plan to address the gaps on an ongoing basis
Perform Client Copies / System Refreshes to support QA testing
Knowledge of Transport Management System configurations & ChaRM.
Capacity planning activities to track database growth, participates in sizing and SAP archiving activities
Support current SAP DR Strategy and Backup-Recovery / Configuration / upgrade / monitoring of DB2 and Oracle databases in an SAP environment.
Develop and maintain UNIX shell scripts required for monitoring alerts and process automation. Work with UNIX / Storage and Network teams to configure systems and troubleshoot.
Have to work in different shift to provide support 24 / 7 and perform on-call responsibilities, which requires a 24×7 on a rotational basis
Learn and stay up-to-date on the architecture and implementation of the business systems applications specifically SAP
Work with developers, UNIX and functional representatives to solve Basis level issues.
Collaborate and work with project teams
Evaluate current technology and recommend tools / processes for improving availability, reliability, and stability and work efficiencies (within team or across dept.)
Generate innovative approaches and solutions to complex problems
Adapt to integrating new and existing solutions across platforms
Technical reviews and Audits
Ability to work on activities involved in Plan areas (Sizing, Scoping, Client/Landscape Strategy
High Availability/Disaster Recovery Strategy etc,) of support projects.
Provide coaching for associate consultants, act as a mentor in technical consulting profession
Key Responsibility Specific to managing SAP Landscape
Chair Landscape Calls.
Manage Sev 1 calls of respective Landscape.
Make Technical Assessment and provide approvals for any changes in the Landscape.
Driving Technical Improvements across the SAP Basis Landscape.
Accountable for planning for Keeping Environment current which includes Patches, upgrades and Changes
Operational Acceptance within the Landscape
Maintain Technical Landscape Details & ensuring Daily/Weekly/Monthly Client Health reports for Landscape is sent across
Manage customer expectations with proper communication
Monthly Landscape Training to New joiners
Set up and manage Adhoc landscape meetings with customer
Support and Guidance to other teams (Especially offshore Team)
Build Documentations where necessary
Final Summary report for landscape to be sent/presented to UL SAP COE, SD Team and Apps Basis Team
Own Problem Management for Landscape which includes Problem identification, Logging, Execution and Closure
Process Adherence and Approval for all Landscape Activities
Skills and Experience Required:
Perform the role of a technical lead (incidents & requests, technical SAP installations, upgrades/ Implementations, database migrations, etc.)
Maintain high degree of knowledge / understanding a variety of SAP Technologies and applications.
Act as a trusted advisor/ point of contact for all stakeholders involved in issue resolution
Operate SAP technology based system landscapes to achieve ambitious SLA requirements
Take all required actions to restore the broken or degraded service in minimum amount of time
Work in alignment with the company procedures to ensure an efficient and quality service
Be responsible for proper documentation, definition of technical operational concepts and guidelines for the implemented SAP landscapes
Qualification & certifications:
Graduate or Master Degree in Computer or Electronics & Communication Engineering / Computer science / Information Technology systems/ Computer applications / IT Business Systems
Certification in SAP Basis is preferred
SAP HANA knowledge nice to have
Personal Skills:
Experience in communication with customers and managing expectations
Proactive in learning and highly self-motivated
Good communication project management skills and exposure to quality process frameworks
Good team player and ability to work effectively in international and virtual teams
Proficiency in written and spoken English
