Responsible for Editing and/or transcribing reports in the appropriate order, using the various applications, while exceeding productivity and quality benchmarks.
Education:
High school Diploma or GED
Experience:
Two years of experience in transcription services; Experience with radiology editing and front end speech recognition system is preferred
Essential Functions
• Demonstrates competency in the various voice recognition, dictation and transcription applications.
• Performs accurate editing and/or transcribing of radiologist dictation in appropriate order.
• May perform a variety of clerical or administrative duties as needed.
• Ensures that all reports are edited in a timely manner.
• Edits, types, and/or QAs medical reports, correspondence, and other items as requested by the radiologist in the appropriate order.
• Reports problems and possible solutions to the Editor Supervisor.
• Calls “STAT” reports or other special requests to referring physicians and assist in communication with the radiologist as needed.
• Initiates any follow through indicated by the radiologist during dictation, such as STAT confirmation, request for priors, memo to administrator, etc.
• Meets current productivity standards, understanding that they may increase over time.
• Meets current quality standards, understanding that they may become more stringent over time.
• Assists with confirming faxes and resolving after hour problems for evening and weekend editors.
• Participates in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours week night and weekends.
