Job Description
Our client is seeking a mid-level SQL Server Consultant, with 3+ years of database administration, development and maintenance experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2014/2012. They are looking for an experienced technology professional with a good track record of administration/development.
Basic Qualifications:
1. 1.5 ? 3 years Experience in SQL Server 2000/2005/2008/2012 database administration and development. (SQL Server 2014 a Plus)
2. Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
3. SQL Development- experience in creating database architecture with associated schema as part of a software design process.
4. Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching.
5. Familiarity with windows server, security delegation, storage components.
6. Manage database migrations and platform upgrades.
7. SQL Server Replication Design / Implementation / Maintenance.
8. SQL Server Mirroring/Clustering/Log Shipping.
9. Database Disaster Recovery Implementation / Maintenance / Capabilities.
10. Database Resource Capacity Planning / Management Design / Implementations.
11. Design and document database architecture. Data Modeling.
12. At least 2 year experience with developing for Microsoft SQL Server (Stored Procedures, Views, Scalar-Valued & Table-Valued Functions) Ability to perform hands-on query optimization, data analysis, and database tuning
13. Experience programming SQL batch environment utilizing large tables and high transaction throughput requirements.
14. Must understand the SQL Server architecture at a 300 level or higher.
15. Experience with performance optimization and tuning with database applications is a MUST.
16. Should have an excellent command of SQL Server and Windows monitoring tools, both Microsoft supplied (Profiler, Performance Monitor).
17. Should have excellent written and verbal communication and customer presentation skills.
Desired:
1. Exposure to Azure Cloud (Windows & SQL Azure), Virtualization (Hyper-V), SSIS, SSRS, SQL XML will be added advantage.
2. Hands-on experience in Oracle or other RDBMS preferred.
3. Relevant Microsoft Certifications (MCSA, MCSE) on SQL Server 2012.
