Job Purpose:
IMG Worlds of Adventure are looking for a dynamic and creative Costume and Makeup Host to join our pre-opening team, to provide support to the Operations Division to ensure a comprehensive service is delivered to the business and key deliverables are achieved.
Main responsibilities:
-The role of Costuming and Makeup department is to ensure the correct costume fitting for the performers, to help them with quick changes, distribute their costumes and apply makeup to achieve the desirable look.
-Maintain, repair, washing and iron costumes and keep records of the wardrobe distribution.
-Take care of dressing rooms, wig racks and costume storage.
-Ensure the smooth running of the show in terms of quick changes, make-up and costume dressing during the performances.
Description/ Key Result Areas:
Operational efficiency:
-Assist Actors with dressing and changing of costumes during technical rehearsals, dress rehearsals and performances.
-Check-in and pre-setting of costumes and accessories for each technical/dress and performance.
-Creates and maintains run lists for assigned production.
-Prepare and carry out basic repairs on costume pieces during the run of the production.
-Launder items which need immediate attention during or post-show and other laundry as assigned.
-Attend all rehearsals and run-throughs of the production prior to technical/dress rehearsals.
-Participate in striking of shows; including, but not limited to, cleaning, sorting and restocking of costume pieces.
-Write makeup sheets and take photos in order to document specific looks and the products that were used to achieve the looks.
-Attach prostheses to performers and apply makeup in order to create special features or effects such as scars, aging or illness.
-Fit and maintain costume wigs for character performances.
-Ensure all costumes are cared for, stored and used in an appropriate manor.
-Study production information, such as character descriptions, period settings and situations in order to determine makeup requirements in line with internal and external requirements.
-Provide performers with makeup removal assistance after performances have been completed.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications:
Completed formal Makeup artist basic training through programs that require at least a high school diploma or its equivalent for admission.
Knowledge:
-Good knowledge in areas like fabric styling and fashion design or makeup design / makeup artist / makeup special effects.
-Competent in the use of tools including makeup equipment and latex.
-An understanding of design, fashions and character clothing.
Experience:
1-2 years working as wardrobe, dresser or makeup artist in theatres, theme parks, stage shows, film, television or any live entertainment activities.
