However, high viscosities and slow drying at low temperatures have been major draw backs of polyamide hardeners. Hence they are suitably used in tropical climate. However, coating formulators have to use considerable amount of solvents to make the coating compositions application friendly.

These hardeners also offer versatile properties like excellent flexibility, salt water and chemical resistance, moisture insensitiveness, fast cure at low temperatures and longer pot life.
These hardeners therefore find wide application in Marine, Protective coatings, offshore, industrial, concrete coatings.
