POSITIONS: Maintenance Planner, STG I&C

Job Description:
“Create and update the maintenance plan in his area of operation with the best utilization of available resources, in order to achieve all I & C maintenance activities and avoid interruption service to customers. Plans, organise and document maintenance of STG activities for power generation assets utilisation, and use available resource to achieve maintenance targets towards assets reliability and availability with optimum cost
The prime responsibility of the jobholder is to assist Supervisor, Maintenance Planning in maintenance planning for the steam power plant.
The job require daily site visit to evaluate the new notifications and to follow up the execution of the schedule.
Under limited supervision, the maintenance planner is expected to plan, organize, and document maintenance activities for power generation assets.
The planner will communicate with Supervisors, foremen, craftsman’s, other planners, engineers effectively to manage asset maintenance in a cost-effective manner”
Maintenance Planning:
§ Responsible for but not limited to:
1. Review new notifications.
2. Visit the site to evaluate the problems and follow up the work in progress.
3. Checks accuracy of notification equip no; work description; work priority; etc…)
4. Specify the required resource for execution
5. Decides which maintenance group will carry out the required work and which groups to be involved if required
6. Order the required material and follow up with material coordinator in case of un-availability of material required.
7. maintains proper status for each work order through regular review until ready for scheduling
8. Schedule the work according to available resources
9. Check the work order feedback
10. Ensure maintenance records are kept
11. Review regularly all backlogged work order, updates the status, and coordinates with area supervisor to minimize the backlogged list.
§ Coordinate with operation department to ensure the isolation of the equipment planned for maintenance. Coordinate with material coordinator to ensure spares availability for maintenance plan execution. Coordinate with operation and maintenance the weekly schedule to ensure the smooth execution of work plan.
§ Consults with Maintenance, Operation & Eng to ensure appropriateness of his plans
§ Captures all relevant info on SAP as he creates works orders
Maintenance Monitoring & Scheduling:
§ Schedule all preventive maintenance work orders and corrective maintenance work orders on the SAP maintenance system to assist maintenance team complete the work orders as per the maintenance plan and avoid any time conflict.
§ Maintains proper status for each work order through regular review until ready for scheduling
§ Releases WO for scheduling after checking availability of resources Changing status to “on hold for scheduling”
§ Add new minor work to the list as and when required
§ Meet weekly with operations & maintenance to coordinate & Schedule work
§ Distribute weekly schedule to all parties
Follow-up work for execution
§ Ensure that repair parts and materials are received prior to commencement of planned jobs
§ Provide technical expertise for filed crews encountering equipment and personnel needs
§ Modify plans and methods as and when necessary.
Cost Control:
§ Monitor the financial performance of a given area of activity versus budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.
Policies & Procedures:
§ Recommend improvements to departmental procedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of Maintenance Planning activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers.
Safety, Quality & Environment:
§ Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of Maintenance Planning activity to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Minimum Qualifications:
§ University degree in Engineering (either mechanical, electrical or instrumentation disciplines).
Minimum Experience:
§ 4 – 6 years’ experience working in a Maintenance Department within a large industrial organisation.
§ 1 – 2 year’ maintenance planning experience.
§ Experience of maintenance planning using SAP or other computerised business management tools.
Job-Specific Skills:
§ Detailed knowledge of planned maintenance schedules.
§ Understanding of time and resource requirements to complete maintenance activities.
§ Broad understanding of Marafiq’s core operational processes, plant and equipment
