Position Summary:
- Responsible for all financial and accounting operations and reporting for insurance division of Eli Global, LLC.
- Additionally, position is the officer responsible for all financial and accounting due diligence for M&A activities with regards to purchasing a company or reinsuring blocks of business.
- Responsible for all transactional accounting, cost allocation, budget maintenance, financial statement preparation, internal and external reporting, tax and oversight of auditors.
- Must be able to travel as needed/required.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
Required Work Experience:
- 10+ years of financial/accounting experience.
- At least 5 years of management or leading accounting/finance functions for a life insurance or reinsurance company.
- An excellent understanding of insurance accounting, reinsurance accounting, statutory statement filings, GAAP accounting for Captive reinsurance, budgeting and costs allocations across multiple insurance entities, tax and tax reporting and audit leadership.
- Direct solid experience creating, reviewing and filing Quarterly and Annual Statutory Statements.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Thorough understanding of life and life reinsurance accounting along with balance sheet impacts. Understand very technical aspects of IMR, AVR, Capital and Surplus, RBC, DAC and Tax.
- Understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP) and statutory accounting principles (SAP). Additionally, how these are reported and accounted for USA states.
