Responsibilities
The position calls for seasoned systems engineers to architect, design, test and implement product solutions. The RS Systems engineers are responsible for architecting, defining, implementing and validating new services and solutions conceived by Sungard AS Product Management Organization. These individuals will work with Technical Product Managers in laying out underlying architecture for defined products and services, build a lab environment within specified scope, define/validate use cases to fully validate service being offer, measure system performance using defined KPIs and certify engineered product for the field. These SMEs are also responsible for creating technical documentation for the service, conducting tollgates with key stakeholders to discuss and recommend the solution.
REQUIREMENTS Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technology discipline Experience · 8-10 year experience as systems specialist architecting production solutions · Experience with engineering product and services Expertise · Strong technical expertise with multiple elements of the technology stack · Primary: o ERP and Applications: SAP BASIS implementation experience · Secondary: o Operating Systems(Any of RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Windows,, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, AS400) o Databases (Any of Oracle, SQL SVR, DB2) Technical Competencies
· Solid working knowledge of technology stack with competency in multiple technology areas described above in Expertise section · Experience in installation, configuration, and optimization of ERP applications mentioned above in virtualized or cloud environment. · Experience with leading database software and ERP solutions such as SAP, Oracle EBSO · Must have the ability to analyze technical documentation and identify gaps/risks · Strong writing skills to produce technical documentation is a MUST and ability to lead technical working sessions Technical Leadership · Proven experience leading the delivery of complex DR testing services · Tenacious work ethic, doing whatever it takes with resolve, integrity and an appropriate sense of urgency to meet deadlines and get the job done. · Team Player mentality with experience building relationships in a matrix environment. · Excellent technical leadership and interpersonal skills that instill confidence and trust among SunGard’s client base, internal superiors and peers TRAVEL: · Ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time
CERTIFICATIONS: Platform/OS, Virtualization, and Database certifications are a plus |
